A Phenomenological study on career perception process of middle school students

Abstract

|
The motivation of the current study is to better understand middle school students’ career perception process. 11 students were recruited from three middle schools located in Jeonbuk J, K, I Cities. Following through Giorgi’s phenomenological study method, a total of 270 meaning units and 27 corresponding subfactors were examined and 9 factors were finally derived. These 9 factors are ‘Sense perception of career’, ‘Perception of career impact to yourself’, ‘Career perception experience in the process’, ‘Emotional awareness related to career’, ‘Effort to achieve their career’, ‘Interactive experience with someone’, ‘Sense perception of career education’, ‘Experience and emotional of career education’, ‘Needs and expectations of career education’. The discussion was further elaborated in terms of career counseling and program for middle school students.
